Christmas Tree Craft Freebie

Only 8 more days to shop for this holiday season. Hope everyone is ready and already has everything under their tree. I am not one of those people. I really don't know why I can't be. It's not like I don't know the holiday is coming and just around the corner. It's the same day every year. I'm one of those mad dash shoppers staying up to wee hours in the morning wrapping and getting everything ready!! I have a few more things to buy and I'll be done, hopefully!!
Having a great week this week at school. I think it is because I see
 Christmas break drawing near!!
The kids are having a blast counting down the days with our
Santa Countdown sheet I fixed up.They love to put their cottonball on as soon as they get in the room!
We also have been  busy this week with other Christmas crafts. I read the story
A Wish to be a Christmas Tree by Colleen Monroe is such a wonderful story. This is one of my favorites. You've got to make this one a part of your collection. If you don't have the book, there is also a read along on youtube that you can watch. I did both with my class. They really took to heart about how the animals came together to help and decorate the old pine tree.
Here is a sheet that I fixed up for the students. I gave them a tree to take home and decorate. I've done this before in the past, but this time to go along with the story, they could only decorate with things from the forest or outside just like the animals did in the story. Leaves, berries, grass, etc... I can't wait to see what they come up with. I will be sure to post the pics when they come in.
Happy Holidays!!

Gingerbread Man Bulletin Board- Proper Nouns Freebie

It' sugar and spice and everything nice this holiday season. Ms. Misty and I are getting excited for the holidays. We LOOOVE this time of year. Maybe because our birthday is on Christmas Day. Quite a SURPRISE for our family- Especially since our mom didn't know she was having twins!!  Ms. Misty is sharing a cute Gingerbread  freebie this holiday season that she did in her classroom.  The kids had  a Holly Jolly good time doing this proper noun acitivity.
To get with the spirit of the GingerBread Man, We came across this song that went great with this activity. The kids are still singing it.

This post wouldn't be complete without a good gingerbread man cookie recipe. I love this site. She does such a great job of showing detailed pictures and easy directions in her recipes.

Christmas Tree Tissue Paper Bulletin Board

If you would like to follow our Tissue Paper bulletin boards on Pinterest- Click HERE- Teaching Times 2- Tissue Paper Bulletin Boards

You all know how  we love making tissue paper bulletin boards- here is Misty's latest addition to her tissues boards. She made a Christmas tree from brown and 2 shades of green tissue paper and put the students names on circle ornaments and she also put some silver circles on there to give it some sparkle- she wanted to put actual lights throughout the tree- but was afraid to due to the paper-up on top is a inflatable star she uses for her A.R. reading board- recycle and reuse is the teachers way to go!!!    Please send us a pic of your Christmas bulletin board idea we would love to see it- :)

Well, I'm not going to lie, it was hard getting back in the swing of things this week at school. The kiddos are finally getting into the flow this week. We put the Christmas tree up in the classroom and the kids just love it. When we come back from lunch, I turn the lights outs and we plug the tree in and lay our heads down for a few minutes. The kids enjoy it and that few minutes does wonders for their concentration when we get started back to work. I wanted to share a Christmas freebie with you . I finally finished a short ABC order pack for TPT and the kids love doing them. Great work for review and for early finishers. The first 3 people to comment will receive a copy of the ABC Order Pack for free. For more ABC ORDER review, check out our TPT store.

Hope your week is jingling all the way!!!!!!!
