New Years Classroom Activities for kids

It's almost time to count down to a new year. Hope everyone is getting ready. I like to have something ready to go for my little firsties when we go back to school to celebrate the new year. So every year, we have our own New Year's party to let the kiddos enjoy and we sit down and make our own resolutions out for the up coming year. Here is a freebie that I made for my kiddos, and I would love to share it with you!!! Click on picture for freebie.
Here is another cute idea that I do every year. I make a patch of cupcakes and put a cute straw in the middle of the cupcake. I then take a donut hole and place it on the top of the straw. The kids slide their donut hole down the straw to resemble the ball dropping. They love it. ( this is not my picture, these pics came from pinterest because I couldn't find my pics from last year- bummer!!)

Here is another cute idea that you could do, how cute and cheap!! Words to my ears!!!!  I love how you take the simple blower and make it a part of the pack.  The kids will be ready to THORW AND BLOW!!!! - LOL!!!  P.S- your janitor will love you for this one- Get ready Mr. Glynn!!
I had to save the best for last. How cute is this.   I haven't done this idea yet, but I can't wait to try it. Here is another way to use that Christmas tree before you take it down. I always leave mine up until New Years anyway. Now you can decorate it with New Years decorations and balloons. Have your kiddos pop a balloon on every hour counting down to the New Year. LOVE IT!!!!! My kids at home are going to have a ball with this idea!!!! Thank you pinterest. I'll have to share pics of this!!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful and joyous New Year and the rest of your holiday break!!!!!

Cute Halloween Craft and Snack ideas

As Halloween draws near,  we start thinking about cute ideas for our Halloween party. Simple craft and snack ideas to take to school parties and events. I wanted to share some cute ideas that students have brought to my classroom parties over the past few years.
A student made this for me last year. How cute is this "Germ Juice" hand sanitizer. Made with ribbon and die cut stickers and letters.
These cupcakes were an eyeballing experience for our Halloween party. Made with a gummy lifesaver and an upside down chocolate chip in the center.

These witch hat cookies were a hit with my kiddos. Made with a Hershey's Kiss and an upside down fudge striped cookie. It is pasted together with some glitter orange cake gel.

How cute is this hand. A student passed these out for our treat bags. Made with Smarties, a fruit rollup and a simple plastic glove. Cute, simple, and cheap to make.

My class always makes this bag of mixture called "The Witches Brew. Click here on this cute freebie that you can do with your classroom
or for your next Halloween party.

I wanted to share a fun activity that we do every year in my classroom. It's called the Witches Brew. We have the best time mixing it together and the funniest part is after the lesson, we get to eat it!!!!  I use this activity for a sequencing of events review. I wanted to share this with you so your little goblins could enjoy this as well. It comes complete with letters to parents, sequence of events practice, instructions and directions, Ziploc bag headers, and thank you notes.

The kids just have a ball while doing this activity. Here are some pictures from our Witches Brew. Everyone really brought such a bag full of goodies to put in our pot.
They had such a great time mixing it up. Sorry the picture is a little blurry, she really got into mixing!!!

Here we are adding the M&M's, but we called them the frog eyes...                   EWWWWWWW!!!!!!!
After we mix it all together, you've got one big pot of Witches Brew!!!!

It makes enough to eat some at school and to take some home with you as well. I always do this the morning of our Halloween party. And we put the extra Ziploc bag in our treat sack to take home to mom or dad.
Don't forget to download this free packet for your little goblins!!!!
